In Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin, players control the titular harvest goddess who has been banished to a dangerous island alongside a group of human outcasts. Throughout the game, Sakuna will make the island her new home by killing demons, harvesting rice, and improving life on the island for its human residents.
While fighting demons, Sakuna uses various farming tools as weapons and players will be able to chain together her strong, weak, and special attacks to perform skillful combos. Sakuna also has a celestial scarf in her possession that allows her to swing over harmful obstacles and throw enemies around, adding more variety to the different types of combos players can utilize.
Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is not only heavily inspired by Japanese mythology, but also by the art of cultivating rice, and the game will feature unique farming mechanics in addition to its sidescrolling action.Players can expect Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin to be released sometime in 2018 for the PlayStation 4 and PC.
